The Faith Stuff

We’re an active Christian faith community, committed to learning, loving, questioning, and including.

We feast, sing, walk, talk, pray and read. Whether you want to join us on a Sunday, find a small group of people to journey with, or simply mark the changing of the seasons with us, we think that spirituality is something best done in community.

Sunday mornings 10.30am

We gather every Sunday at our Florence Road building. We’d love you to join us as we engage with the ancient stories of our faith, sing, pray, learn together & share communion. There’ll be friendly faces, youth and kids groups, and the chance to hang out afterwards over a cup of coffee.

Journey Groups

At One Church, we seek to live out our values in close community with one another. One of the ways we do this is through Journey Groups. There are many groups that meet throughout the week at various times and locations in order to learn, pray, and eat together. Each group is different and has a unique feel but are essentially trying to grow in faith, hope and love. Each one has one or more Facilitators with all members encouraged to feel like it’s their group. If you’d like to find out more then send us a message and we will help you to find a group that will be a great fit for you.

Kids and Youth

We care deeply about celebrating, including and creating beautiful spaces for our kids and young people. As they grow up, we want to help them to know and love God, themselves, and the world around them through creativity, story, arts, prayer, and the assurance that no question is out of bounds.

If you’d like to talk about our kids or youth work, get in touch with Maddy (kids) or Anton (youth) – you can find their contact details on the ‘Our Team’ page.

One Church Walks

Every month we walk together. Some are shorter and easier, some a longer and harder. All of them are about connecting purposefully with nature, each other, and God.

Feasts

Each season has things to teach us. Eight times a year, we gather around food and liturgy (and often fire) to mark the changes happening around us, and to engage with the divine invitation and beauty that the seasons hold.

Reading the Bible

Starting Wednesday 28th January, 7-8:30pm online
This six-week group is a chance to explore different ways of reading, understanding and responding to the Bible. We’ll start with an opportunity to think about different ways of approaching the Bible, understanding its contexts and the different types of writing it contains. We’ll also look at a range of tools that can help when reading it yourself. In the second part, we’ll try out those tools, as we wrestle with some of the big themes running through the Bible together.

Sunday Evenings

Our evening meetings take a variety of different shapes. They’re often contemplative with space for solitude and prayer. Sometimes they’re hosted conversations around issues of justice or theology, or engaging with art or the enneagram. Check the ‘Upcoming Events’ box on the homepage of the website for more details of future services.

Become a partner

If you’re committed to helping achieve the vision and believe in the values of the church, then you can be a Partner of One Church. Like any commitment, it shouldn’t be taken lightly, it’s our way of doing membership and so the Partners have a responsibility to contribute to the life our church.. We want Partnership to be a dynamic way to belong to our church, much more than sitting in a pew as a ‘paid up member’ and more like, as the Bible suggests, an active part of a body which, together with all the others, creates what we believe a church should look like.

Each year we have a Partnership Sunday where those present commit to another year of partnership, but there are various ways in which you can sign up during the rest of the year. Please email the office for more information or to update your contact details.
