Volunteering at One Church
There are lots of ways to get involved with volunteering at One Church and in our projects.
You can find more information about the various opportunities below. If you’d like to get in touch about any of these, please use the form below. Please be aware that some of our volunteering opportunities will require you to undergo a DBS check.
Sunday Mornings
You could help us on Sunday mornings by joining the Welcome, Set Up or Coffee Teams. If you’re a musician, you could join our band, or if tech is your bag, you could help us run the sound desk or the computer. Maybe you could be a service leader, guiding us through all the elements of the service.
Community Meal
As part of a network of local churches, we serve a meal every third Sunday of the month for members of the community who are homeless, vulnerably housed or at risk of isolation. We rely on volunteers to be able to run these, to help with food preparation the day before, and to help with set up, serving food, chatting with guests and tidying up on the Sunday itself.
Bar & Events
No experience required! Come and volunteer on our bar, pull some pints and be part of raising funds for One Church Brighton. Wether you’re looking for some customer service experience or just want to get involved with all the fun things happening in our venues. We run the bar for a wide variety of events from dances, weddings, live music and the Great Escape festival!
Chomp
We’re looking for people who can do all or any of the following during school holidays: cook, serve food, run craft activities, organise games, make tea and coffee, and most importantly be friendly and welcoming.
Even if you can’t help out at the upcoming holidays we are always looking for volunteers for future holidays, so please get in touch!
Rock Farm
Rock Farm, our working market garden, community space and horticultural therapy project on a 6-acre site near Steyning, has lots of volunteer opportunities. You could help with transporting veg boxes from the farm, picking veg, maintaining the site and much more. Email Ben to find out more about available opportunities.
Kids Groups
Most weeks during term time, we run groups on Sunday mornings for our primary age kids and would love for some fun-loving and enthusiastic volunteers to join our lovely team. If you’ve been coming along to One Church for a few months and would like to find out more, get in touch with Sam. All our children’s volunteers will need to go through a DBS check.
One Youth
Our young people meet together on Sunday mornings and at various points during the week. If you’ve been at One Church for a few moths and would be keen to help out, our Youth Engagement Worker, Anton, will be able to tell you more if you drop him an email. All our children’s volunteers will need to go through a DBS check.
